Chair's weekly update

A busy Bank Holiday weekend at Easingwold Running Club began in traditional fashion with 38 members taking part in a parkrun at 9am Saturday in various locations around the UK and also in Austria.

ERC members also helped keep parkrun ticking along at Millfield by volunteering for the various roles which enabled 249 finishers to enjoy their parkrun safely. Well done to Michael BISHOP, Ray FRENCH, Cheryl MCBROOM, Andrew THROUP, Dave WADDINGTON, Bernie WOOD.

On Sunday it was the traditional Northallerton 10k starting and finishing at the Town Hall and several ERC members took part. Well done to Joe Dodsworth, Brendan Anglim, Laura Aikman, Kelly Swannell, Karen Rayner and Sue Brown.

Over the border in Edinburgh it was the Marathon, always traditionally one of the last of the UK spring Marathons. A windy day made for difficult conditions so it's well done to Matt Jones, Ollie Spence and Matthew Cockerill who all finished strongly.

The season continues to tick along and by the time you are reading this the Easingwold event in the York Road Race League will have taken place on Tuesday 27th May.

The Club members involved in the organising team for the first ever Easingwold Community 10k and Family Fun Day in just over 8 weeks time are working hard to finalise the preparations for the closed road event starting and finishing in the Market Place on the 27th of July. Well over half the entries have been sold as we look forward to hopefully a great day for the town.
